Lovin' Red Crochet!

Two of my classroom mother's love to crochet.

Marina made me this darling snow hat!

Her daughter Abygail has a hat like this one, only in our school colors. I just adore it. When Marina said she would make one for me I was delighted. She made it in my two favorite colors, red and pink!

I just love this little flower on the side. I'm nearly 60, and it is probably a bit young for me, but I think teaching kinder gives me a child's heart.

Rosario said she was making me a purse for Christmas. Oh my goodness! I just love this little purse, and I wear it every day!

I put little pins on it to suit my mood.

Cherries are my classroom theme, if I have one. Doesn't it look like a cherry purse?

These sweet (and beautiful, talented young women) just "see me"! I love when that happens!

Have a wonderful week-end!

I Have Trigger Finger

The middle finger of my right hand has been bothering me for weeks now. According to the Internet, I have "trigger finger".

Guess I've used my glue gun too much!
I taped my finger up with band aides nice and tight and decorated the family room a bit.

It's nice too see the cute Valentine things I've collected and that swappy friends have made for me.

More Valentine Love coming!

Since You Asked

I have received several questions about this metal storage file cabinet in my craftroom. I thought I would repost this post that was originally on my paintinpatti.typepad.com site.

"I found this portable file cabinet at a yard sale. The hardware was VERY rusty - which would have been perfect in a shabby room - but, I wanted it to be in my craftroom - so that means it had to be RED!

So - out came the RED spraypaint! And, my favorite scrapbook papers - and of course, the Mod Podge!

Now she's pretty! I used red polka-dot wrapping paper.

I was inspired to do this project by Melony at Whimsy Daisy

Thank you Melony for sharing your great idea with all of us! My file cabinet is not nearly as grand - but she was inspired by your magnificent cabinet! (Please go see Melony's cabinet - you won't be sorry!)"

****************

I was looking thru some of my older posts on my old blog, and I can tell, I was happier. I miss my grandchildren. Thank you, Lord, for the time I had with them living nearby.

And, wasn't my little house cute? Crowded and cute!

Blessings, Patti

Winter Rememberings

My dad is in the winter of his life.

My parents drove up today to drop off a very old wheelbarrow my dad gave to me. It is so old and rusty. I don't know if it can hold any soil!

My Dear Daddy has Parkinson's. His memory is fading. His body is slowing down.

This man who whisked my mother off her feet, and loved his family completely, is slowing down. Too much.

It is scary. I don't want to see this. He told me today that he doesn't remember the drive to our house anymore.

Old Blue. My dad's first work truck. He restored it a few years ago. My sweet parents. And, the old barn at the house I grew up in.

I Love you, Mom and Dad.

January Snowmen

It snowed a little bit! And, silly me, I took one little picture off my deck!

The sweet snow put me in the snowman mood!

I decorated my family room tree with snowmen and ladies!

I spent some quiet time in my craftroom making a few more tags to go along with the others we all swapped for several years ago.

This was my first ever tag and tag swap with Elizabeth and friends!

Sweet snowman from Little Susie Homemaker!

Just a simple and cute spot.

Bye for now sweet friends! Run and play, before he melts away!
