Having Summer Fun

I have been out of school for nearly a month. Yippee! I was ready for Summer Fun!

We were able to see our daughter and family for two days as they rushed through S. Ca. visiting family. The Grandkids are bigger and still adorable!

We have worked in the yard so much, and we are also readying our little house in the desert for sale, (please say a prayer for it to sale). I have trigger finger again, (too much scrubbing and hula-hoeing) and had a shot last week. Hopefully it will straighten out again and I won't need surgery. I'm taking my vitamins!

But, here is what I have been doing that has brought me great pleasure...

I'm using Lori Holts book, Farm Girl Vintage. It is the cutest book, and I think I love every single quilt block in the book!

I've made a few mistakes, but I am learning as I go. Some of my points didn't match, but I think I figured it out. I wish I had a personal teacher!

Now, I have to learn how to actually quilt on my machine!

I sewed around the edges of these jars, but I don't know what else to do. Suggestions are very welcome!

So, you know what I will be doing for awhile!

Happy Summer!

  1. Your blocks are adorable! I am following Farm Girl Friday, too - but I am just pinning them on my Pinterest board for now. I have too much else going on to start and I know I will be obsessed! Your blocks look great!

I am a trigger finger sufferer, too. I have had fingers on both hands affected at one time or another. Right now it is my ring finger on my right hand. Just "sticking" as of now, when it gets worse I will go for the shot. I have been able to get by on the shots with no surgeries, thank goodness!

And I have to tell you, my hubby and I got a good chuckle just now about the story of the goat sitting in the seat of the milk truck!!! What a riot. Goats are such funny little beasts!

  13. Blessings on your house sale! Take good care of your poor finger, too - I have chronic low-level tendinitis in both forearms from too much pruning in the garden 20 years ago. I'm not in pain, but have to pace myself and have learned when to quit. Your blog is such a delight! Thank you for sharing your life and loves :) Hugs, Ann
