Happy New Year!

Happy New Year

From the Hubs and Me!

With Christmas past, and a New Year ahead, hubs and I have much to be thankful for.

We love our home in the country with the big and beautiful view.

We are thankful for our children and grandchildren. And, our precious parents.

We are thankful for the work we do, and the people we serve.

We are thankful for our new church and the people we will grow to love.

We are thankful that The Lord is Faithful and True. He holds us in His hands.

Loving and guiding us all along the way.

And, we are thankful for you!
My dear blogging friends! You all mean a lot to me.
Thank you for being here for me all year through.
I don't want to put my Christmas away!

Happy 2014!

Free Time!

Sweet Memories of Christmas Past!
I've seen these cute boxes that our very talented friends have made, and I reeeeeeally wanted a few of my own. On Christmas Eve day, the house was quiet, so I made some sweet boxes for our tree.

I found this sweet box on Pinterest, but I don't know where it originally came from. I printed it out and made 4 sweet boxes. Sooooo much fun.

Hello Santa! I sure do remember talking to Santa Clause on the big black phone at home. Do you remember talking to him. I remember that he knew our big dog, Brigette, and that I worked hard in school.

My father cut and painted a large sleigh with reindeer for our roof too. Oh, how I wish I had that now!

I had just a wee bit of vintage Christmas doo-dads to use, but I think they are cute.

Bye-bye Santa, till next year!

Christmas Remembering

A special ornament in honor of my dear parents, and my sweet daddy's, "Old Blue" truck.

Stories when our children were young.

Remembering the pretty dresses Mother made for my sister and me. And then sewing for my daughter when she was little, too.

The hundreds of ornaments I made to sell when the children were younger. All to buy Christmas toys for them.

Mother and Daddy making Christmas special for us, each and every year.

My sister and I singing Christmas carols in the backseat of the car.

Our own Christmas baby!

Our children waiting for Santa!

Decorating the outside of the house and the neighborhood glowing with Good Cheer!

Rudolph dancing on the roof!

Christmas blessings!

To all my dear blogging friends!

May your hearts and homes be blessed.

**************

This year I decorated with lots of childhood memories of Christmas past. Santa brought lots of cheer!

But, truly, for me, my heart belongs to Jesus at Christmastime. It is the time we celebrate His birth. I am so thankful.

Merry Christmas!

Today in Kindergarten, we finished up the Christmas Celebration Week by making Gingerbread Houses.

Each child brought an empty pint container, a package of graham crackers, a can of white frosting, and a bag of candy to share.

I saw more than one child licking the frosting off their fingers! Yummy!

Each child had an adult with them - just to help out a bit. I told the parents, "hands off! If you want to make your own little house, you can make one at home!"

I don't think they all listened, though. It's just too tempting to add pretty little candies!

I wish I had taken pictures to show you their cute creations! So many students told me they were making ABAB patterns!

I love teaching kindergarten, especially, at a Christian school. We have such wonderful times together talking about God's love for us, and Christmastime is the BEST!

We are hosting our family Christmas dinner tomorrow. The house is all decorated for the party. Such fun! May your days be Merry!
